An autonomous system number identifies a routing network. The organization shown may be an ISP, cloud host, CDN, employer or privacy service.
How to interpret an IP lookup
- Confirm whether the address is IPv4 or IPv6 and public or reserved.
- Use country, timezone, ASN and organization as approximate network indicators.
- Expect VPNs, proxies, carrier-grade NAT and corporate gateways to obscure the end user.
- Never make high-impact security, employment, financial or legal decisions from geolocation alone.

Can this find an exact home address?
No. Public IP databases provide approximate network geography and cannot reliably identify a street address or individual.
Why does the city look wrong?
The database may locate an ISP point of presence, registered network office, VPN exit, mobile gateway or stale allocation.
When is usage counted?
One usage is recorded when you explicitly look up an address or choose Detect my IP. Copying, downloading and loading the optional map do not add uses.
