Encrypted before storageCredentials are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before the vault is saved locally.
Private site identitySaved domains are represented with local initials—no third-party favicon request exposes your vault list.
Portable encrypted backupExport the encrypted vault file regularly and keep it somewhere safe. Import remains protected by its master password.

How to use the encrypted account vault

1. Create a memorable master password

Use a unique, long passphrase that you do not reuse elsewhere. The master password unlocks the encryption key and cannot be recovered by ZeeSharp.

2. Add and organize accounts

Save a site, username, password, category and optional notes. Search and filters make larger vaults easier to manage.

3. Generate stronger passwords

The built-in generator uses browser cryptography and guarantees characters from every selected group. Choose a longer password wherever a service allows it.

4. Back up before clearing browser data

Your vault lives in local browser storage. Export an encrypted backup before resetting the browser, changing devices or clearing site data.

5. Lock when you step away

Choose a 1, 5, 15 or 30 minute inactivity timeout. Locking removes decrypted vault data and the active key from this page's memory.

Important limitation: browser extensions, malware, screen capture, clipboard history and anyone with access to an unlocked session may still expose credentials. For high-risk use, consider a dedicated audited password manager.

Frequently asked questions

Does ZeeSharp receive my saved credentials?

No credential or master-password field is submitted to ZeeSharp by this tool. Vault encryption and storage run locally; normal website assets and generic subscription usage may still contact the site.

What happens if I forget the master password?

There is no reset or recovery mechanism. This is intentional: ZeeSharp does not hold the password or an unencrypted copy of your vault.

Can I open the vault on another device?

Export the encrypted JSON backup, transfer it securely, then import it and enter the same master password. The import replaces the vault currently stored in that browser.

Why should I export backups?

Private browsing, browser cleanup, device loss or site-data removal can delete local storage. An encrypted backup is the only portable copy created by this tool.
